Telehealth

During the COVID-19 crisis, I am seeing all individuals, coupes and families online through zoom. Tele-health through this HIPAA-compliant platform insures the protection of your confidentiality and safety while allowing us to stay connected. To start therapy, please email me at Jean@JeanMalpas.com and we will schedule a brief phone call together.

People & Topics

Since 2001, I have been humbled to support individuals, couples and families as they heal, grow and thrive through many life challenges and circumstances.

I have been trained in a wide array of approaches to mental and relational wellness and have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in inpatient clinics, outpatient programs, and hospital settings. These widely diverse experiences have taught me how to best support individuals and their families at different stages of minor and/or serious medical, behavioral and emotional challenges.

I practice psychotherapy with an integrative and humanistic approach, always looking to identify strengths and connectivity. I meet people, families and groups where they are and together, we build a collaborative relationship that allows vulnerability, empathy, non-judgmental observation of self and others, as well as change and transformation. Using a combination of psychodynamic, motivational interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and interpersonal approaches, I support identifying resources and energy for change while overcoming obstacles.

As a couples and family therapist, I strongly believe that we are stronger if our life relationships and contexts (home, work, community) are healthy and supportive. I work with individuals, couples and families in a non-pathologizing way, clarifying relationships and helping individuals build deeper connections inside and outside of themselves.

Get Started

The best way to start is to call me at 917.270.5119 or email me at Jean@JeanMalpas.com with your name, contact info and a brief description of why you are reaching out. I get back to you within 48 hours.

During this initial phone call, I will ask you a couple of questions about the issues at stake and what would be most supportive. If we mutually assess that we could be a good fit, we will set up a first one-hour consultation.

The first consultation allows us to confirm that I can be of support to you and/or your family and that you feel comfortable working with me. We will then identify the frequency, schedule and ways of communicating optimal for the support you are seeking.
